To create schematics for variants























In the out job Select 'Project Physical Documents'


In the Variant Manager menu Project > Variants

click on images to view

That's It.

Update Schematic from Library

Altium BugCrunch #839 : 

 Position of refdes after update from library.

1. Open SCH List Panel. Select All Objects > Include only Parts. 
2. Copy current Orientation, and Mirror-status to a spreadsheet.
3. Set to 0 and non-mirrored. 
4. Perform library update.
5. Copy spreadsheet data over SCH List data to recover original positions.

Orientation Dots - Auto Position

Orientation Dots shown below

To remove the Position Dots

DXP Preferences > Schematic > Graphical Editing > uncheck 'Mark Manual Parameters'

or

Select Auto Position in the Parameter Properties.

You can use Find Similar to Change all Occurrences of Auto Position.

Sheet References

In Altium Sheet to Sheet References are referred to as Port Cross References.



For hierarchical designs you would NOT use Port Cross References since all references lead to the top hierarchical sheet in the project.

When flat (Non-hierarchical) schematics are preferred. Port Cross References can be used to aid in following the circuit flow from sheet to sheet.




To generate sheet to sheet references in the schematic:

Reports > Port Cross References

Note if you have a hierarchical top sheet then "Add To ..." is not an option, you will need to delete the hierarchical top sheet to create Port Cross References.

Gotch'a !  Compile your project before adding "Port Cross References".



Also to update a design you will need use Remove From ... and then Add To ...

Schematic - Output in Color or Black and White

When a new Schematic Print is created the default will be Black and White.

Page setup is required to output a PDF schematic in color.

Create new Schematic Prints.



Right Click on Document and select Page Setup.




Select Color
