ODB++ Valor's Universal Viewer (Free)

Altium can generate ODB++ for PCB fabrication data.

To view the ODB++ data you can use Altium's built-in ODB++ viewer "Camtastic" or download the free Valor Universal Viewer

The Valor ODB++ Viewer was released in 2005, so it's a bit outdated. I suggest using Pentalogix's ViewMate for reviewing your ODB++ data.

To view ODB++ data, select File Open

Navigate to an ODB folder. This folder should include the sub folders as shown below.

Select File type All Files(*), then Accept Dir

The PCB should be displayed.

See menu or press F1 for help.

ODB++ Versions ?

The Valor Universal Viewer (VUV) is a bit dated, last released in June 2005.

PADs ver 9.2 generates ODB++ version 7.0, which is not compatible with VUV.

This is an interesting data point, because I was able open ODB++ output from Altium in this ODB++ viewer.

Is Altium's ODB++ data at version 6.3 or older ?   Something to think about.

That's It !
