Output Job - Manually Managed

Using Altium Output Job Files is Highly Recommended.

You can also automate Output Jobs.

Using the PCB Release View to Automate Output Job File Processing

A well designed Output Job file will simplify generating most, if not all of your required output files for fabrication and assembly.

Output Folders for Manually Released Projects:

Altium is very flexible with regard to creating project output folder structures. This post is an example of folder structures I use for Manually Released projects.

I prefer to keep my project design and project output files in side-by-side folders within a date stamped project folder.  I use an Output Container Path like ..\Project Outputs\eng

The project folder holds the Project Design Files.

The project outputs folder holds the Project Output Sub Folders.

The project output folders include: "eng", "fab" and "mfg".

The eng folder has a PDF Schematic and an Excel Bill of Materials.

Fab Folder Contains Fab Drawing Notes, Drill Drawing, Gerbers, Drill Files, and IPC-356D Test Data.

The mfg (assembly) folder contains a limited set of Gerbers (no inner layers). Pick and place and Test Point Files.

Manually Managed Release with the Project Outputs Folder path Relative to the Project.

Manually Released Folder Path Example:

..\Project Outputs\eng

Check Use Relative Path.

The details of configuring the Gerbers, Drills, and Fab Drawings are beyond the scope of this post.
